Fenugreek
Fenugreek is an herb that contains L-4-Hydroxyisoleucine; an amino acid that has been used in traditional medicine in China and around the world. Several studies show that it plays a valuable role in insulin-promotion and glucose regulation. L-4-Hydroxyisoleucine stimulates insulin secretion, thereby limiting the extent to which blood glucose (the glycemic index) is elevated. Additionally L-4-Hydroxyisoleucine is of use to those who wish to reduce weight gain, and for athletes whose insulin demands typically exceed those of non-athletes.
